Education and Experience

Dr. Wootton graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology in 1974. He then entered Ohio State University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1978. 

Upon graduating from dental school, he served as a captain in the United States Army Dental Corps for three years, stationed at Fort Hood, TX.  He moved to Austin in June of 1981, at which time he established his private practice, Midtown Dental Associates. 

Dr. Wootton has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. Though he is an expert at his craft, he never stops learning, and is continuously building on his extensive knowledge base. He has accumulated more than 1,200 hours of continued education throughout his tenure. His genuine passion is what drives him to constantly stay abreast of the latest innovations in dentistry and incorporate them into his private practice.  

A Family Man

Dr. Wootton and his wife, Cathy, have two sons, Landon and Marshall. Landon currently is a graduate student at UT Health Science Center in Houston and Marshall is a senior at the University of Texas.  Their family also includes Sophie and Lexie, two very beautiful and smart yellow Labradors.
